Enjoy the Little Things

“Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” —Robert Brault

As we approach the holiday season, my thoughts have turned to gratitude, especially appreciating what I do have rather than focusing on what I don’t. 2020 has turned all of our lives upside down and has asked for sacrifice from everyone. But it has also given the opportunity for examination and reflection on the little things and the big things in our lives.

It is a privilege and joy that we get to teach, guide, and help create special experiences in this beautiful place. Thank you so much for including us in your some of your little things this year. We hope that we helped you create some big, lasting memories. We managed to capture a few snapshots from this season and they were woven into in the video below by Ari Marshall from our fabulous team. We hope you enjoy it.

P.S. With this video, we just launched the new Whidbey Island Kayaking YouTube channel!

Krista has lived on a coastline for most of her life, first in New York, then Seattle and since 2008, on Whidbey Island. She has been a lifeguard, a swim coach, a Red Cross water safety instructor, and open water swimmer. An ACA-certified kayak instructor, she loves introducing newbies to both kayaking and open water swimming. Prior to WIK, Krista’s professional life was in sales and account management at Macmillan, a book publishing company. Supporting the amazing team at WIK and providing 5-star customer experiences are the passions that drive her as she develops additional sustainable and active tourism opportunities on Whidbey Island. She proudly serves as a Commissioner at the South Whidbey Parks and Recreation District.
