Beach Manager Job Description

Responsible for the safe day­-to-­day operation of the beach and rental shop as well as client management and payment processing. This position requires excellent customer service and quality communication skills. Applicant must be able to keep their cool in a fast paced environment, be a quick learner – must learn about everything we offer, be able to explain it to customers, and then handle the reservations. This is also a physically demanding job. Previous paddlesport experience preferred; but a passion to learn more about paddlesports absolutely required. Starting pay is $15.00 per hour.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be able to move heavy kayaks and other awkward equipment

  • Be able to walk in sand, swim, and work outdoors in both warm and cool conditions.

  • Be at least 18 years old

  • Have a valid driver’s license

  • Current certification in adult, infant, and child CPR and First Aid

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Kayak Tour Support

  • Preparing boats and equipment for tours

  • Helping customers get fitted in their PFDs and kayaks

  • Leading the the launch and recovery of kayaks

  • Assisting customers in getting in and out of the boats

    Rental Shop Operations

  • Moving equipment to (and from) the beach

  • Fitting customers in their kayaks and SUPs

  • Providing basic paddling instructions

  • Enforcing rental area boundaries

  • Evaluating safety and weather considerations

    Client Management for both tours and rentals

  • Warmly greeting all customers

  • Securing signed liability waivers

  • Courteously and professionally answering customer communication (phone/email/text)

  • Checking in tour and rental customers

  • Answering any and all questions about our operations

  • Processing tour and rental payments

  • Selling merchandise

    Management of Safe Facility and Equipment

  • Responsible for leadership and execution of any emergency protocols on the land/beach.

  • Maintaining a safe environment for all staff, guides, customers, community, and general public

  • Responsible for the cleaning all equipment after its use

  • Logging all equipment problems

  • Responsible for the cleaning and organization of the staff room, storage room and trailer

  • Ensuring opening and closing procedures and tasks are performed
